1971 Paris Show

Rare photos from Ossie Clark's 1971 Paris show. Top left: Ossie Clark and Gala Mitchell. Top right: Gala Mitchell in black parachute silk dress by Ossie. Middle row, left: Emmanuelle Khanh in funky specs. Bottom row left: Ossie's ultimate raincoat cut from riding mac fabric 'need never do another one'. Vogue writes ' Ossie Clark's collection was a fantasy of the finest silks, cut velvet and dotted chiffon, cut into parachute frills and knife-edge pleats, plunging necks and clinging insets, a satin guitar set as a stomacher into plum crepe was his favourite - incredibly contoured seams across the back, with knife pleats sprining from jacket insets, long skirts alive with cut, flare and frills, pleats and peplums; and his ulitmate raincoat cut flared from riding mac fabric - long puffed sleeves, huge collar. Audacious and incredibly feminine. The French were amazed and amused by the crazy glamour of Gala Mitchell, Ossie's London girl'.
So there you have it!
